He has been a poker player, a social media diva and an Internet personality. Now, Dan Bilzerian is officially an Armenian citizen. He and his brother, Adam, participated in an oath ceremony today in the European country led by Mnatsakan Bichakhchyan, head of the Armenian Police Passport and Visa Department.
The Bilzerian brothers, who were born in the US, are sons of an Armenian immigrant, Paul Bilzerian. Both Dan and Adam are well-known names in the poker arena and Dan’s flamboyant lifestyle has led him to be called “The King of Instagram.” He has bragged of winning up to $10.8 million playing poker in a single night and as much as $50 million in cash games. However, according to Hendon Mob, he has only recorded around $36,000 in live-tournament cashes.
Adam, on the other hand, has had more success. He has racked up about $877,000 in live action winnings. He hasn’t been seen at the tables lately, and his last cash was $2,234 for finishing 122nd at the $1,000 NLHE WSOP event two years ago.
Bilzerian’s fame for getting into trouble is greater than his poker talent. He was banned from a Miami nightclub in 2014 after kicking a female model in the face. In December the same year, he was sued for throwing another model off the roof of a house, resulting in the model breaking her foot. He was also arrested that December on bomb-making charges.
